Tex Avery's Little Rural Riding Hood

This is the last of the cartoons made featuring Tex's Wolf and Red together. It's a classic and I was surprised it wasn't already up on YouTube. Red's dance routine in this one is reused animation by Preston Blair from 1945's Swing Shift Cinderella. For anyone who is interested, Red's singing voice was supplied by Iomogene Lynn who was a vocalist for Ray McKinley's band, in I believe 1942, and then later for Artie Shaw in 1945. I've only managed to dig up 7 songs that she sang on with Artie Shaw's Orchestra. She later went on to sing on various movie soundtracks and was a backup singer for Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. You may also recognize the voice of Wolf's county cousin, voiced by Pinto Colvig who also provided Goofy's voice. I've also posted some great layouts from this short in addition to the ones here.

Hehe, what a funny ending.

I was wondering who the singer was. I hope I can find some songs by her.. there were two from the Tex Avery cartoons that I really enjoyed.

I haven't been able to find the actual recordings from these shorts. I wish I could. Though she can be heard on a couple of tracks on Artie Shaw's 1945 Spotlight Bands Broadcasts and Artie Shaw Chronological Classics 1942-1945. She does a great version of Accentuate The Positive and The Atcheson Topeka and Santa Fe.
