Pat Matthews Clip

It's reactions like the one in these screenshots and clip below that make Pat Matthews one of my favorite animators.

Bob McKimson - "Crowing Pains"

This is Bob McKimson's first Sylvester cartoon and also features Foghorn Leghorn. Brutally hilarious stuff.

Sniffles and The Bookworm Model Sheets

I'm sure there aren't too many rabid Sniffles fans out there considering how those cartoons pale in comparison to Chuck Jones' later shorts. Though I figured I'd post them as they're really solid drawings. Something I need to improve upon in my own crap.

"Cured Duck"

Here's another great Donald short. "Cured Duck" features one of the most colossal shit fits ever animated.

"Donald's Crime"

Here's a classic Donald short directed by Jack King. I know very little about Disney animators so I can't really point any one particular person's work. Check out the awesome backgrounds when Donald leaves Daisy's yard.

Animaland - "The House-Cat"

I'm still on a bit on an Animaland kick, so here's another cartoon from the series. "The House-Cat" was released in 1949 and like the rest of the series features some fantastic animation. Bob Egby was kind enough to leave in a link to a great article that he wrote of his time as the messenger at G-B Animation. It's a great read if your interested in the background behind these cartoons.

Animaland Model Sheets - "The Cuckoo"

Here's a few model sheets of the characters from "The Cuckoo", part of David Hand's Animaland series. This is definitely one of the better cartoons of the series. Thad posted it over a year ago on his blog, so go check it out if you've never seen it before. Sorry the not high resolution, they're taken from the model sheet gallery on the DVD.

Dimwit

Nothing special tonight just a Dimwit strip from a Heckle and Jeckle comic. It's signed "CR", anyone know if Connie Rasinski drew this page?
