From Egghead To Elmer

I was reading through the comments on one of John K's posts and someone asked if he had any Egghead model sheets. Since no one answered, I figured I'd post them along with some Elmer Fudd models.

Egghead Rides Again, 1937

Little Red Walking Hood, 1937

Daffy Duck and Egghead, 1938

A Wild Hare, 1940

Model Sheet, 1942

What Makes Daffy Duck, 1948

Rabbit Fire, 1951

That drawing of Elmer in the What Makes Daffy Duck model sheet is the best Elmer I've ever seen! So cute and full of appeal! That's the one I was talking aobut in John's blog.

The Davis one is the best. I think Davis' shorts are some of the best-looking ones WB ever did. Four great animators working on them, Emery Hawkins (stealing the show of course), Don Williams, Basil Davidovich, and Bill Melendez, each with their own unique style. It'd be interesting if Davis got paired with McKimson as a co-director rather than animating for Freleng (though I love Davis' stuff for Friz).
