Clampett Model Sheets

Here's some model sheets from various Bob Clampett cartoons.

This one's from A Tale Of Two Kitties, one of my favorite Clampett cartoons.

I wish I had a higher resolution picture of this one.

Another one from Gruesome Twosome

Funny how drastically the Jimmy Durante cat model changed. He even shows up like that on the lobby card.

man, that Tale of Two Kitties model sheet is awesome.

It's so funny how the cats look nothing like their real world counterpart, but feel just like them, even with the pictures to compare them right there.

I wish you had higher resolution images too.

wow great post klangley. It really shows that Clampett wanted his characters to portray at least some sort of personality instead of just making them into these stock cats or stock buzzards. He strays away from anything typical. I've always loved that!

Cooooool! Thanks a million for posting these Kevin! Are these from that Warner's book? I noticed Tom Mckimsons signature on the tweety model, did he draw most of these? Thanks again, you rock!

Hey Christopher, all but one are from That's All Folks-The Art Of Warner Bros. Animation. It's a really good book, loaded with illustrations.

It's like they totally captured their personalities. I have higher resolution scan I just didn't want it to take forever to load. Maybe I'll edit the post to put up a better scan.

Thanks for posting these, Kevin! I love that Gruesome Twosome model sheet. Who drew the Clampett caricature at the top of the post?

It was drawn be T.Hee in 1936 as part of a larger Xmas card featuring the a lot of the Warner's artists. The only thing I know about him is he did some character design. Are you familiar with the name?

Hi Kevin - thanks for the reply, I should have known it was T.Hee! I am familiar with the name, but I don't know much about him other than his funny caricatures.
