I recently bought an Andy Panda comic. It's called "The Mad Dog Mystery" by Walter Lantz copyright 1945. It's pretty cool. Great art work and it's in a relatively good condition considering it's 66 years old.
I have a digital copy of that one. That's Dell Four Color Comics #85, I'm not sure who drew that one though. I don't know too many of the artists that drew the old funny animal comics. Maybe Mykal at the "Big Blog Of Kids Comics" knows.

Yowza! Pretty stylized inkwork for such old-school character designs. I love these!!

Do you know anything about this particular issue?

Hey kevin!
I'm a big fan of your blog!
Michael Lah is one of my favorite animators and I found here a Reel with some animations of him. AMAZING!!!!
Thanks Kevin. I'll check it out.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Kevin! Yep, the story that Tom mentions, Mad Dog Mystery, is the great Dan Gormley.
Great post! I sure would love to see a collection of this under-appreciated artist given a collection.
