Animaland - "The Lion"

Here's another from David Hand's Animaland series, along with some model sheets. I love the animation of the lion as a cub.

I recently picked up David Hand's Animaland on a 1998 Celebrity Home Entertainment VHS at a yard sale still in it's plastic wrap.
I haven't watched it yet, worth opening up?

You know, they may not be very funny cartoons but they have great animation in all of them. For that alone I'd say open it up. I've posted a few so check 'em out before opening to see if you think it's worth it.

I recall watching this short as a youngster years ago and could have sworn it was a Disney short - perhaps it was down to the music or the intro of the Lion Cub that made me think that.

Nevertheless, the addition of the wisecracking parrot really gave this short extra life - got a good giggle he played Sinatra, in black and white form, even! XD

Life in research cartoons.

some of the Animaland shorts feature slow timing but the animation and character construction is solid throughout and certainly worth a look.
