Happy Birthday Tex

Tex would've been 99 today. Here's a model sheet of Tex himself and a clip from Rock-a-bye Bear, one of the funniest cartoons I've ever seen.

Wartime Model Sheets

Here's a few cool model sheets from some Warner Bros cartoons. Thanks once again to the Masked Stinker for sending me the Hook and Snafu models.

Private SNAFU

My favorite Hook cartoon is easily Clampett's "Tokyo Woes". Just check out these pics of Manny Gould's animation. Incredible!

"Confusions of a Nutsy Spy".

"The Ducktators"
I uploaded this short, but Dailymotion automatically flagged it as offensive when the upload completed. I didn't know servers could be so easily offended. Gee, me and the guys I work with say all kinds of nasty things in front of the servers at work and they never complain. Oh well, sorry folks.

Heckle and Jeckle - "Rival Romeos"

It's been a while since I've posted a Heckle and Jeckle short so enjoy "Rival Romeos". Check out when Jim Tyer takes over as Jeckle's about to land a kiss on the bull. Great stuff.

"The Old Grey Hare"

Here's a cool model sheet from Bob Clampett's "The Old Grey Hare". I love the drawings of old man Fudd.

Cecil Turtle

I came across this model sheet of Cecil Turtle while checking out books at the library. I love "Tortoise Beats Hare" and "Tortoise Wins By A Hare".

Junior-Teacher's Pest

Here's a public domain goodie that I'm quite fond of from Famous Studios, "Teacher's Pest". The cartoon stars Junior in his only cartoon. At least I'm pretty sure it's his only cartoon. There's really nothing to him as a character but there's a lot of that I like about this short. Like most Famous cartoons from this period I think the animation is quite good and some of Tom Ford's backgrounds really stand out. Junior sings a catchy tune in the beginning (I love those type of scenes) and the Wolf is pretty funny too.

Walter Lantz - The Cartoon Director

Here's a cool "behind the scenes" video I came across on a newsgroup, detailing the duties of the cartoon director.
