This is a short story written by Joe Lansdale and art by Bruce Timm, from Flinch #11. It's far darker and violent than the more light hearted stories Timm works on. It was originally supposed to appear in an issue of Heart Throbs but it didn't quite fit the bill. Great art though as always.
I loved this. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIts a really twisted story, but its twisted in a really beautiful way.
ReplyDeleteIt's always great to see Bruce!
ReplyDeleteWow! That was great. Thanks for posting this.
ReplyDeleteGreat story and also beautiful art style. That's remember how i originally wanted to torture my main character in my first own comic but ended by a too much clean purpose. Thanks for sharing this Kevin!
ReplyDeleteSome usual good art from talented Bruce Timm for an atrocious little script, total trash of the worst kind.
ReplyDeleteAll the other people saying that this is beautiful are either phony snobs or just full of crap.
This is the perfect story for the song "Rape Me", of Nirvana.
ReplyDeleteFucking awesome.
THIS is exactly why Gotlam city NEEDS BATMAN.
ReplyDeleteVisually, excellent work by Timm. It easily rivals Millers work artistically, from the Sin City series, and THAT'S hard to do!
The story echos the sexual tension between the two that begins as an initial fascination, and builds like a runaway express train to a grotesque, twisted orgasmic finish. Again, brilliantly executed by Timm, and done with minimalist style. LOVE IT!
However, Psychologically, emotionally, I found this story disturbing. Too close to reality and a sad stark reality of the way many regard life in our society just fr the sake of a thrill. Whats worse is that this is referred to as "love" (gangster love?)
Well, that was brutal and pointless. Bleh.
ReplyDeleteI love this!!!!
