Here's one of only two Spike and Tyke cartoons made by Hanna Barbera at MGM. I think this cartoon is a good example of the direction that Hanna Barbera would take over to television cartoons. The character designs and backgrounds are very similar to what they would later do on Ruff and Reddy and the HuckleBerry Hound Show. The biggest difference is obviously the animation which is far superior here. The pacing is also a lot quicker. The HB television shorts rely on a lot more dialogue and less visual humor which at times can really slow things down.
