Hanna Barbera's War Dogs

Here's War Dogs, directed by Hanna Barbera in 1943. I love pretty much any cartoon I've seen that they've directed with Ken Muse and Irv Spence animating, this one is no exception. We'll see how long Dailymotion lasts. Enjoy.

Golfing Cartoons

I realized that after posting Heckle and Jeckle in Goony Golfers that I have a couple of more cartoons that take place on the Golfcourse. Tom and Jerry in Tee For Two, one of my all time favorites. I love Irv Spence's scene when Tom tries to drive while standing between two tree branches. And Woody Woodpecker in Woodpecker In The Rough. If you haven't seen Goony Golfer's check it out here. It's one of Heckle and Jeckle's funniest. If Golf were as fun as these cartoons maybe I'd give it a shot.

Tom and Jerry Layouts

Here's some scans of some Tom and Jerry layouts and animation, plus a model sheet of Jerry. I think it was posted once by Jerry Beck on Cartoon Brew.
This one above is my favorite. I'm pretty sure it's from one of Irv Spence's scenes in Quiet Please. Check out Thad Komorowski's great posts about Tom and Jerry's animators here and over here, oh here too, and don't forget here.

More Tex Avery Model Sheets

Here's so more Tex Avery model sheets. John K. suggested that I post these as they're favorites of his so how could I resist. These were drawn by Irv Spence who was an animator on many of Tex's shorts. Plus some of the best Tom and Jerry shorts and even on Ralph Bakshi's films. Please check out Cartoon Diary: The 1944 Cartoon Diary of Irv Spence, it has some really great drawings on it. If your curious, these model sheets can be found in John Canemaker's book Tex Avery: MGM Years. I believe it's now out of print but if you see a copy grab it. It's loaded with great images. I'm sure anyone who owns it will agree.

There's also some more I posted over here at DrawingBoard.org.
